Getting to Gedney Farm

Gedney is about a 2.5 hour drive outside of NYC and about the same from Boston as well. For out of town guests we recommend flying into either NYC or Boston and renting a car. You can also fly into Albany, NY or Hartford, CT which are about 1 hour away from Gedney (although flights to these smaller airports tend to be more expensive).

From New York City (approximately 2 ½ hours):

Take the Henry Hudson Parkway (N), to the Sawmill River Parkway. Proceed on the Saw Mill River Parkway to the Taconic Parkway (North). Follow Taconic Parkway to Hillsdale/Claverack, NY. Exit Exit Taconic at Claverack and turn right onto Rt. 23, which will take you through South Egremont and towards Great Barrington. Follow signs to Route 23, proceeding into and through Great Barrington. Bear right as 23 splits off, towards and past Butternut Ski Basin. Bear right onto Route 57 East, and go 6 miles to Gedney Farm. Driveway is on the Left.

Take Interstate 95 N to Bridgeport, CT. Pick up Rt. 8 N to New Boston, MA (approx 65 miles). Turn left onto Route 57 W, and proceed 9 miles to Gedney Farm (on right).

From Boston & Points East:

Follow Mass Pike I90 West to Exit 2 = Lee, MA. At end of ramp, turn left, and then immediately right onto Rte 102 West. Follow 102W to Stockbridge. In center of Stockbridge, turn left onto Rt. 7 South at the Red Lion Inn and follow Rte 7S to Great Barrington = Jct Rte 23 at traffic light. Turn left onto Rte 23East. Follow to Jct Rte 57 (1 mile past Butternut Ski area on right). Bear right onto Rt. 57 East for approximately 6 miles to Gedney Farm on left.

From Albany Airport (1 hour):

Exit Terminal follow signs to Rte 87South & I90. Follow 87S to I90. Follow Rt. I90 East to Exit B3. Follow Route 22 south for 1/2 mile and left onto Route 102 East to Route 41S to Great Barrington. Turn left onto Route 23 East for 4 miles (follow signs to and past Butternut Basin ski area). Bear right onto Route 57 East 6 miles to Gedney Farm on your left.

From Hartford (1 hour):

Take 44 West to Winsted, CT. Turn right on Route 183 N into Colebrook, CT. Follow Route 183N into New Marlborough, MA and at merge onto Route 57 West. Gedney Farm is on immediate right.
